User-Disable taskbar flashing

Particularly since it's buggy, could the activity flashing be disabled at the user's choice? I'm running Win2k, and know there are issues with that that are OS-based: autohide taskbars reveal themselves when flashing starts, which is really annoying.

Though it *could* be that mc isn't the cause, and that it's actually the OS triggering the flashes.

That is an option on the Output configuration tab - "New activity flashes taskbar icon".

Which I have unchecked. I'm running Win2k Pro -- am I seeing a bug from elsewhere?

This was covered before in another similar thread. Something was redesigned in Win2K and 'every' program that uses the original method of flashing the task bar fails to work right under Win2K. It is not something that can be fixed short of changing the code. Or this is the case as far as I know, from what I have read from a few sources. Just wish I could remember what those sources where. ;)
