A while ago, while playing any MU* using MUSHclient, I discovered that, when watching a DVD on my computer and using MUSHclient at the same time, the movie would play in the background (black screen) while I was playing my MU*. Unfortunately, that was some time ago and now I can't seem to replicate the same effect. I was wondering if anyone knew how to manipulate players or MUSHclient to get the same effect. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You might have set "always on top".

Well, that didn't work. Not that it's an absolutely pressing issue, but any other suggestions?

Well, not really. What is the symptom? You can't see the MUD and the movie at the same time? The movie doesn't play? You can't hear it?

It's that the movie doesn't play in the background. I tried going Fullscreen and Always On Top, and that didn't work. I tried just doing Always On Top and just Fullscreen, but that didn't work either. The movie plays fine and all, it's just that it doesn't come through the black backdrop when playing any MU*. It's like the movie used to become the backdrop when playing, instead of the blank black. I'm using the same DVD player, with all the proper configurations set. The only other thing that might be getting in the is Windows XP, but I'm not sure. Just trying to see if you had any ideas, I suppose.

I have never heard of any player or MUSHclient setting that would replace the black background of the window with a playing movie. You might have had some kind of program that gets itself into the drawing routine of a program and takes over its background, but this whole thing seems pretty weird to me.

The latest version of MUSHclient - 3.83 - soon to be released, will have an option to allow transparency. This would let something "peek through" the gray background behind the main window.
