Variables in Macros?

I searched on google and found an old post from 2002 about it was not possible to use variables in macros.

Is this possible yet? If so, how?

I got it to work by using an alias, now I just get variable 'target' is not defined.

Different problem :)

Nevermind this thread. I am just starting out and didn't understand that there are multiple namespaces.
