Just a general question. What is the version of gcc currently recommended for compiling ROM 2.4 and derivatives of it?

I believe you should use the latest stable version possible (3.4 something, I think), as it has the most recent enhancements, optimizations, bug fixes etc. I do not believe that a more recent version would break anything that wasn't broken in a previous version.

There are a couple of minor things to adjust in Rom 2.4 if you're using a gcc 4.x compiler. But aside from that nothing major should come up.

I'm currently running 4.0.1. I've noticed that telnet.h had to be changed..but it was very minor. Are there any other bugs/changes I should know about? Also, on a side note, does anyone know how to change the max_stat from 25 to say...30 on a rom based mud? And/or...does anyone know how/where to change how stats affect certain things and by how much? Thanks.
