I've come across a problem that has been plaguing my MC 3.50 since I had reformatted this computer and reinstalled everything.
No matter what MU* I connect to, it seems to simply stop sending and receiving data to/from the MU* server. I don't get a message saying it got disconnected or timed out or anything. It would just stop. The easiest way to see this would be to connect using an autoroller for a random MUD and set the requirements really high. The connection seems solid enough to be getting around 10 rolls per second. I could leave it alone while doing something else and more often than not, when I come back the connection seems to have halted. I'll see the last roll still on the screen but there is no message saying the connection had been terminated but I get no response and simply have to disconnect and reconnect to the MU*.
I'm not sure what is causing this since I have no problems of this type with any other kind of constant connection like playing some online game or downloading a large file. There is never any amounts of packet loss except for days when my ISP is doing maintenance which happens only once a month at an odd hour when i'm usually not connected to a MU* anyway.
It is annoying since I would be holding conversations with people in a MU* or doing some random roleplay scene where there is some delay between people emoting or saying anything. So i'll switch out to view a website or something and come back, only to see that the connection seemed to have stopped and it tends to leave people hanging until I notice that the connection stopped since it would normally blink the taskbar icon if they emoted to let me know to check back. But since the connection is dead, I don't notice until it's too late usually.
