Okay whenever i am able to get the cygwin and sorce files situated i will probably most likely looking into snippets. Been looking around a bit and was wondering if there is one out there that takes a map of say a town and displays it when someone types map (and if map command needs to be added?). Same things outside of towns but the map itself would look different. Like i have seen some muds do this:
*** ** ** *
****zzaaaz***
**zzzaaaaazz***
***zzaXaazz***
***zzzaazz***
*****zaaz***
***** **** ***
And that would be like outside towns and X would be on the legend saying its your location and * would be something of land and z and a as well. And as you travel the X would move (since its you) and the world map would change or rather simply move along with you to show where you are or if your near towns. Though also in turn the mud i saw this from had a stat feature that limited/allowed vision of the map which depended upon an amount of the stat you had.
Then as i said town maps would look different it would look more structured of course and wouldnt really move.
Dont know if anyone has attempted this with smaug but whenever i get things situated i would definitly love to have something like this to help players navigate.
