The main MUD I play uses the "<" character constantly, as I'm sure many do. I've played with all areas of the config, but I can't get it to display properly. It seems to just eat up everything that follows it up to a space. Not what I want. :( Help me please!
Please help me get the "<" character to display properly

You are using MXP (or at least have it turned on). If your mud is an MXP mud, then they 'should' be using < to replace instances of it, but since zMud is probably what they tested it with they assumed it would work anyway since zMud simply ignored bad MXP commands and displays them, while Mushclient will generate an error.
In other words:
zMud: <b><This is my room> - Hi!</b>
<This is my room> - Hi!
Mushclient: <b><This is my room> - Hi!</b>
- Hi!
^And this is if you are lucky.
If you are not on an MXP mud, make sure it is off. If you are, then inform the people running it that they are not correctly following they MXP design and hope the pay attention.
