Problem running Rom on Cygwin

hello, need help running rom with Cygwin...

it appears that when i goto the src dir and type make it does not know the command.

Default@computer ~/rom24/src
$ make
BASH: make: command not found

Default@computer ~/rom24/src
$


dont really know what else to do....
