Ok I spoke to Nick about this and he told me i should post it here...
heres the deal.. im trying to create a client in vb.net for gemstoneiii and have it except the mxp tags. I figured out that in order to get into the game i need to telnet to chimera.simutronics.com 10023. As soon as you do this the tags come up. after that im not sure what to do.. if i type in the keycode given on login, i can actually get INTO the mud.. but i cant see anything after that point. its almost as if i need to send to the server that i have received everything and to enable me to view the rest... can anyone give me a hand with this?

Thanks

Last I heard, GS3 wasn't using MXP at all. Where did you get that server/port combination? Are you logging into the Wizard version or the eScape version? (Or is this the one now designed to be used with zMUD? I don't know if they were adapting zMUD to use one of the old setups or putting together a new one.)

So unless things have changed, your problem isn't MXP. If you're seeing 'tags', chances are you're logging into the eScape version, and that's not MXP, it's just XML tags being used to send information. Neither of which should effect your ability to login, but you'll need to look at what information eScape sends on login, I'd imagine, and see if you're sending the appropriate information. It may require more than the login code.

So... I don't know where you got the idea, but chances are, it's got nothing to do with MXP.
