Ok, I am working on mkaing a new MuD using its won codebase, I already have a well working group of staff and I was wandering if you were interested in working for the game by creating a codebase, you will have all the normal perks off the rest of the staff, plus you will have an Administrator rank on the games Message Board and will be a high ranking staff, the game is hoping to use its own private client likely to be built in VB. Examples of this can be found at http://www.realmsofkaos.com and http://www.nightmist.co.uk please get in contact with me using one of the following ways.

I tried doing this once before, and I can say straight off that it is a time-consuming process. I probably spent four or five months on it, and it certainly isn't finished.

However on that occasion we parted company because my new friends - the ones that wanted the new codebase - wanted to have ownership of the finished product. In the end we got bogged down in arguments about whose code it was. I don't really want to go through that again in a hurry, neither the work nor the arguments.

My suggestion is to go with an existing codebase (DoT comes to mind as pretty comprehensive). Most are so customisable you will still get a pretty good "local" look and feel.
