Add a "Test" button to the right of the "Send to" combo box?

In the trigger dialog there is some space to the right of the "Sent to" combo box and I realized that this would be the perfect place for a "Test" button. This would simply activate the trigger as-is.

To test a trigger as it is currently I have to make a change then close the trigger dialog, close the configuration dialog, hit ctrl-12, then hit return.

If there is a problem I have to open up the trigger and repeat.

Yes, but testing a trigger takes more than activating it. For example there could be wildcards, a matching line, style runs, etc. Forcing it to activate doesn't achieve much. Plus you have the issue of trigger evaluation sequence.

You are correct but even a basic testing feature would be extremely useful.

To answer the points you mentioned, I could easily add a "testing" flag at the start of the script to toggle fake inputs.

Maybe, but as I said in answer to another suggestion recently, I don't want to change the resources file if I can help it.
