| This forum has now been enhanced to show which threads you have not yet read.
The way this works is to record against your forum user profile the date/time of the last read thread.
For this to work you must be logged into the forum, otherwise it will not know which person to record the date/time against.
If you are logged in, there will be a short green horizontal line drawn on the main forum page, and also the page for a particular section (eg. MUSHclient) which divides the posts which are earlier than the one you last read, from the posts which are later from the one you last read.
Basically this means you just have to read the ones above the line.
Also, if you go into a particular topic (eg. MUSHclient -> General), then the threads in that topic which are unread will be shown in a different background colour (light green rather than light blue).
The date will always only be adjusted higher (ie. to a more recent date), so for it to work properly you should read threads in sequence.
That is, read the one just above the green line first, and then the next one, and so on.
This is just an advisory service, you can always just ignore it. Also, reading old posts (for information about old topics) will not do any harm, as they will not change the date.
Note
The "date read" is not updated if the last thing you read was a posting that you yourself made. This is so that the "unread posts" line does not jump to the top of the list of posts as you reply to posts.
Thus, you may see posts you have made sitting above the "unread posts" line. However we assume that you are not too interested in re-reading posts in threads where you were the last one to post, so simply ignore those. |

The dates and times for posts above are shown in Universal Co-ordinated Time (UTC).
To show them in your local time you can join the forum, and then set the 'time correction' field in your profile to the number of hours difference between your location and UTC time.
