New login system

The forum now has an updated login system. This is designed to unify the different login systems that I use on various web sites.

To login click on the “Log on” link in the blue box on the top RH corner of a forum page.

Alternatively, click on “Register forum user name” if you do not have an account on the forum.

Some of the features used in the past for forum users have been de-implemented. These are things like setting signature text, a biography, and so on. These were rarely used by genuine users and frequently used by spammers.

Also the ability to modify your forum details has been de-implemented. The only useful thing you could really modify recently was your email address, and to be honest, that also seemed to be frequently used by spammers.

User information

If you are on a page with no special action on the URL (such as the main forum page) then you will also see a icon which lets you see your current stats (eg. when you logged in last, how long your session will last) plus some links to let you log out of this device, all devices, or all devices except this device. You can also change your user name or password.
